About Us.

InnoFund was established to accelerate UK innovation.

We believe that companies who take on risks, challenging and uncertain work or solve critical issues within our environment are innovators and deserve to be rewarded. Ambitious companies are always on the lookout for new opportunities to grow their business and InnoFund is well positioned to identify them and help you to capitalise on them.

Our Story.

InnoFund believes that innovation is fundamental to improving our economy, environment, and ultimately our future. This has led InnoFund’s founder Adam Jerreat to create a company that facilitates UK innovation funding in a better, smarter way.
Having worked within tech, finance and innovation funding, we combine our expertise to move away from the traditional transactional relationships that clients have with the standard R&D Tax boutiques. Our relationship with our clients is not just providing an R&D tax claim; we aim to be strategic growth partners. R&D Tax Credits is an exercise we use not only to maximise your benefits but also to better understand your business and identify further opportunities for your future growth.

Our Mission.

To incentivise and facilitate innovation, client by client, to help shape a better future.

Management Team.

Adam Jerreat.

Senior Partner
Head of Manchester

Adam is well established in our industry having delivered more than £30m of tax credits for British businesses. He has been at the very top of the industry over the last few years breaking every record set in our sector. In his career he has worked with clients from every sector; from two-man fintech firms to £30bn turnover multinationals. He is passionate about delivering value to all clients but currently specialises in the Engineering sector.

Adam started his career at the largest R&D Tax Credit firm where he helped SMEs claim millions in R&D Tax credits, propelling his career through several promotions, eventually joining the enterprise accounts team, working with FTSE 250 and blue chip clients’ larger teams, streamlining their current R&D, Patent Box and Land Remediation Tax processes. He was then scouted to start up the Manchester arm of another R&D boutique, helping northern businesses access innovation funding opportunities.

He attributes his success to his genuine interest in innovation and his extensive reading and research around the incentives available to businesses.

Adam has created InnoFund with a company culture of innovation and improvement. He oversees our new product development and partner relationships, including incubators, sustainable organisations and charities. When he isn’t working you can find him playing with his english bulldogs.

Simba Mareverwa ACA, CEDR.

Head of Consulting & Finance Director

Simba is a Chartered Accountant who was one of 3 Directors of the UK and Europe’s largest R&D tax specialist firm where he spent ten years. He was responsible for creating a team of platinum specialists across key R&D sectors (Engineering, Software, Science experts), Corporation Tax (Ex-HMRC Inspector & highly experienced Chartered Accountants/Tax advisors) and Tax Law (Solicitor and Barristers) dealing with the HMRC Enquiry and Dispute Resolution arm, focussed on innovation incentives, a gold standard of compliance within the tax industry.

Some key areas of expertise and aspects to note are:

  • UK Corporation Tax (Compliance, R&D, Land Remediation, Creative Sector Tax Reliefs, Patent Box, Capital Allowances and R&D Allowances)
  • R&D work across all R&D qualifying Science and Technology sectors
  • Working on single to several hundred stakeholder claims
  • HMRC Investigations and Dispute Resolutions (Enquiries, Alternative Dispute Resolution and supporting UK Tax Tribunal related work)
  • Responsible for defending claims with tax benefits totalling over £15m
  • Managing multi-disciplinary teams

Having read Accounting and Finance at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Simba worked in various inhouse Finance teams, including management accounting, before specialising in Corporation Tax at one of the top six accounting firms in the world. Tax advisory roles followed before he turned his hand to innovation funding in the early days of what has become the largest R&D tax specialist firm, helping to grow the business during his 10 years at the firm.

The meritocracy and strong team ethos at the organization enabled Simba to move up the ranks to become a Director at the firm which allowed him to create new business streams. This required the highest level of technical competence, coupled with articulate and focused leadership to diversify the services offered which he delivered on. Fulfilling clients’ innovation funding needs and developing the legislative compliance tools to assist with service delivery has been central to the various teams he has led.

Simba enjoys dealing with complex and contentious issues arising from general tax compliance work to ensure fairness is systematically achieved. He has dedicated himself, through engagement with the R&D Communication Forum (formerly R&D Consultative Committee) and providing input to government consultations in areas concerning his clients, to assist in improving the framework of delivering innovation funding. He genuinely loves the cutting-edge R&D compliance work which was magnified when he formed an HMRC Investigations and Dispute Resolution Team in his previous role as Director continuously liaising with HMRC Officers on enquiries and R&D policy matters.

Simba joined InnoFund as they realised the common goal after 10 years of directly partnering with hundreds of clients and influencing thousands as part of delivering his innovation incentives expertise. Similar to his business partners, he was very keen to establish from the ground-up a specialist firm growing a best in class, platinum status team of dedicated innovation funding specialists. The team’s DNA and culture is aimed to partner with InnoFund’s clients to help manage the complete intellectual property life-cycle through applying an internal ethos of shared ownership of the business to reflect the hard work inevitably needed to meet the needs of our clients in the long-term.

Combining over 15 years of experience in tax, using his accredited dispute resolution skills and gaining insights from the Research & Development Communication Forum (formerly RDCC) Simba offers our clients the peace of mind as an industry leader in innovation tax reliefs is involved in their claim. Additionally, this allows InnoFund to offer defence services for prospective clients who are currently under HMRC enquiry if the case meets our minimum standards.

Simba looks forward to adding the Finance Director feather to his hat while he is at InnoFund!

On the days that he is not working hard for his clients, Simba enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and extended family, supporting his beloved Liverpool FC, learning about world faiths, studying all manner of history and anthropology.
